Animation Videos 3/3/19

This week in science we worked with the second graders on stop animation videos with the fish they made for art class. Basically the second graders made fish in art class and they also made a background to be the ocean then they made transparency’s  with coral in it so that they could have different scenes. Also the idea is for it to have something to do with trash in the ocean. I am with Wren and he decided that he wanted to have his fish eat a worm, but it has trash in it then a bird comes along and eats the fish and then the bird gets sick.

Who had the idea of stop motion animation?

How do people get it so perfect?

How many frames does it take to do a jumping jack?

Mass Over Volume 2/24/19

This week in science we learned about mass and volume. One of the experiments that we did is the bubble gum experiment what you do is you weigh a normal piece of bubblegum and weigh it then you find the volume of it by measuring it (because it’s square) then someone in your group chews the gum for 2 minuets then they spit it out and drop in water to find the volume then you weigh it and last but not least they put it back in there mouth and you do that for 2 minutes until it looses flavour. luckily I wasn’t the chewer.

What is gum made of?

Can you do this experiment with different gum?

If so what kind of gum

Science 2/7/19

Monday we had a snow day then on Tuesday we worked on finishing our time websites and boxes. Wednesday we only had a few minuets of class because of the play so we played with played with play dough and turned on lights with it. Then on Thursday we had a snow day then on Friday we had another snow day I wasn’t really sure what to write about but then i found the scientist that I think I’m going to be doing for the science expo. Her name Lu Zhi and she is a panda conservationist and if you’re wondering what that is… its a person who acts for the protection of the environment or wildlife. Image result for Lu Zhi conservationist
