11/24/19 Potomac Horse fever

This week we worked on our bacteria slides and posters, I got a lot done and I learned a lot about Potomac horse fever like they discoverer me but It was actually alive 5 years before that and vaccine that they made it was mixed with rabies and they haven’t abortion yet. And if you vaccinate in the spring then you vaccinate around this time then your horse has less of a chance of getting it.

How was PHF caused?

How many times can a more get PHF?

Can abortion be prevented (at all)?

Science Fun 11/10/19

This week in science we worked on finishing up our flower unit, we finished our slides and scavenger hunt. Then we started our bacteria unit and watched some videos about it and talked about it. We had some homework about it and that was fun. Then we started our projects. I am doing PHF which stands for Potomac Horse Fever its a virus that can happen to horses of all ages and it mostly happens by the water because of the bugs that are over there but it can also happen in tall grass and other places.

What breeds can get PHF?

H0w many horses have gotten PHF?

What bugs carry PHF?

Science 11/3/19

This week in science was Halloween and we had parent teacher conferences so we only had three days of school and we didn’t evan have science on Wednesday. On Tuesday and Wednesday we did a scavenger hunt instead of a quiz and that was really fun and some of the questions were confusing like when you had to unscramble the words to find that thing. We also made potions and Lucy Andre and I collected automolive berry and the leaves and cooked them in a pot with water. Then we poured that liquid the next day into one of the containers and the same amount of water into the other we haven’t gotten to see what the potion has done to the radishes yet but I’m exited to find out!

How big can a radish get?

How many colours of radishes are there?

How much light do radishes need?
